Delete your account and data

This page explains how to request deletion of your GamGam account and personal data, including from the web and without needing to install the app.

This is a courtesy translation. The legally binding version is the Spanish one; in case of any discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails.

App: GamGam. Developer: Daokio (NIT 1016036611). You have the right to request deletion of your account and personal data at any time. You can do so on the web (option 1) or from within the app itself (option 2).

1. Request from the web (without installing the app)

Write to [email protected] from the email address associated with your account (or state it clearly in the message) with the subject "Delete my GamGam account".

To protect your account, we will verify that the request comes from the account holder —usually by checking that the email matches the one on the account— before processing the deletion. You do not need the app installed to use this channel.

2. Request from the app (alternative)

If you have the app installed and are signed in, you can delete your account yourself, with no intermediaries, at: Profile > Settings > Delete account. Deletion runs immediately.

3. What data is deleted

When we process the request, we irreversibly delete your personal data, including:

Your email address (replaced by an anonymous internal identifier; this frees up your email in case you want to register again in the future).
Your username, your real first and last name, and your display name (alias), which is changed to "Deleted user".
Your mobile number and its verification.
Your Instagram link, date of birth, gender and professional level.
Your last known location.
Your profile photo and its thumbnail (deleted from storage, not just the reference).
The link to Google or Facebook, so the account cannot be "revived" by signing in again with those networks.
Your password (rendered unusable).
Your devices' push notification tokens, your interests, your saved events and the likes you gave and received.

In addition, the account is deactivated and all your active sessions are closed.

4. What data is retained and for how long

For technical and legal reasons, a minimal amount of information is not fully erased, but instead retained anonymously or for the time required by law:

Messages you sent in chats are retained, but anonymized: your authorship is shown as "Deleted user", with no photo or personal data. They are retained because they are part of other people's conversations and deleting them would alter their history.
Data we must retain by legal obligation (for example, to respond to requirements from authorities), for as long as the applicable regulations require.

Deletion of your personal data and deactivation of the account are immediate upon processing the request. Any residual copies (for example, in backups) are deleted or anonymized within a maximum of 90 days, except for data that must be retained by legal obligation. This term is consistent with the Privacy Policy (section 11, data retention).

5. Effect of deletion

Deletion is irreversible: it is not possible to recover the account or its data once processed. You will lose access to your profile, your chats, your events and your interactions. If you later want to use GamGam again, you will need to create a new account.
